In the “waste hierarchy”, prevention comes in at the very top. Litter-strewn sports venues show events in a bad light and render any environmental protection concept implausible. A wide range of waste prevention options exits. Waste prevention also has the added economic benefit of helping to reduce waste disposal and cleaning costs.
