Sportgroßveranstaltungen

Sports events are major energy guzzlers. Just how much power and heating is required depends largely on the type of sports facility, athletic discipline and duration of the event. Stadiums, arenas and sports halls generally consume a large amount of power and heating. Outdoor events also need energy – for lighting, sound technology and data processing.

Climate protection is one of the most important challenges of global environmental policy and is considered one of the most serious ecological problems. Therefore, all sports events should make it a central goal to keep climate-harming emissions to a minimum. Since greenhouse gases are mostly produced by energy consumption, efficiency technologies, such as co-generation and the use of renewable energy carriers, are particularly suited to lowering energy-related emissions.
